God is a gracious Father and will do everything to protect the family. It is our duty to also make the family comfortable for all.
Proverbs 11:29 says: Those who bring trouble on their families will have nothing at the end. Foolish people will always be servants to the wise. Benefits of God's Family
6. Acceptance
We are to accept one another. Inadvertently, everyone deserves to be politely accepted in the family. In any open organisation including family, the sense of belongings follows acceptance. A person tends to pull out or withdraw where unaccepted. Acceptance means respecting individuality, respecting one another values, attitudes, immaturity and maturity. However, acceptance neither include concealing flaws nor condemnation. Acceptance does not mean we accept the wrongdoing of other people. Rather, acceptance in the family means correcting in love as Jesus Christ did. John 3 verse 17 says: For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.
Christ has not come to condemn us.
7. Expectations
God has given different talents to different people and He expects us to promote the Family with those talents. Matthew 25:21 “His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things.Come and share your master’s happiness!’ The Master has blessed us with certain talents and there's an expectation from each member of the family. When you and I maximise our talents collectively, the family is made stronger and God bless us in return. In the family, people expects certain things from us. Likewise, there's a maturity expectation in the church of God. Colossians 1 verse 28 "We proclaim Him, admonishing every man and teaching every man with all wisdom, so that we may present every man complete in Christ." In the church, we are expected to welcome, admonish and encourage one another, especially the new believers in our midst. God expects us to realise our potential and benefit the body of Christ.
8. Support
God wants His family to be sensitive to the need of one another. The God's family benefits from a robust supportive system that entails all spheres of life. If one part suffers, every part suffers with it; if one part is honoured, every part rejoices with it. 1 Corinthians 12 verse 26 As a family, we are expected to get along together without discrimination. Hebrews 10:25 encouraged that "And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near."
9. Problems Solved
The church is made up of people with different challenges. At some point, problems will arise, challenges will come. However, those challenges are meant to be solved. Of course, we all rely on God for solutions, yet, we should assist one another in solving your problems, our problems by giving practical advice, tips, assistance of any form. Together, we share our joy and solve our problems. As a family, together we stand. Matthew 12:25 says Jesus knew their thoughts and replied, "Any kingdom divided by civil war is doomed. A town or family splintered by feuding will fall apart. God wants us to deal with the problems and find biblical solutions.
10. Comfort
God is a comforting Father. "Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort" 2 Corinthians 1 verse 3 God’s family should be a place where we find comfort. In God’s family there is compassionate comforting care. God want us to take care of His children. 1 Thessalonians 5:14 And we urge you, brothers and sisters, warn those who are idle and disruptive, encourage the disheartened, help the weak, be patient with everyone. Summary
God’s family is a place of:
As the family of God,
God bless you as you meditate on these teachings. Amen
