There is a kind of supreme strength that only the Lord God provides. In other words, the source of divine strength is in knowing God. And one of the ways to know God is by putting on the the whole armour of God.
Ephesians 6:10 "Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. "
Like the road situation, there is a responsibility on a biker to put on the whole armour/regalia while on the road. Similarly, God is instructing every believer to put on the WHOLE ARMOUR OF GOD while sojourning in life because of seen and unseen battles of life.
Ephesians 6:12 NKJV "Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. 13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand."
The armour is to protect and preserve the believer of Christ.
Now, putting on the whole armour of God is very time-sensitive. Obviously, it is very dangerous for a believer to be without the whole armour of God and usually dangerous to put it on late after the attack of the devil because ‘your enemy is like a roaring lion looking for whom to devour’. 1Peter 5:8
1 Peter 5:8
Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:
The enemy; Devil is very tricky, full of cunning craftiness also called schemes, but will not get hold of you in Jesus name. The devil is methodical and deceptive. Therefore, beware of the cunning craftiness of the devil Ephesians 4:14.
Then we will no longer be immature like children. We won’t be tossed and blown about by every wind of new teaching. We will not be influenced when people try to trick us with lies so clever they sound like the truth.
Ephesians 6:10-20 (NKJV)
The Whole Armor of God10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. 11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the [a]wiles of the devil. 12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of [b]the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. 13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
14 Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, 15 and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16 above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; 18 praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints-- 19 and for me, that utterance may be given to me, that I may open my mouth boldly to make known the mystery of the gospel, 20 for which I am an ambassador in chains; that in it I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.
Do not be ignorant of his wiles. Be fully prepared and protected with the whole armour of God.
The Bible also warns that devil fires fiery darts which are intelligently controlled to its target; the believer of Christ. Ephesians 6:16. However, the armour of God is purposed to detect and fight against the devil. It works like sensor, smoke detector and its divinely controlled by the power of God.
Thus, a believer wearing the whole armour of God should be sensitive, listen and obey the Holy Spirit whenever prompted in the Spirit. In such a situation, stop, meditate and ask God for clarification.
Do not ignore the Holy Spirit.
Ephesians 4:30 "And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption."
