The Living Word: Attributes of the Rhema (Part 2)

Hello there,

Today's message is the concluding part of the sermon on 'The Living Word of God'. 

Indisputable, the Word of God is the most important, most lived, most relevant and the best '100 ways' of practical living guidebook in the world. ​

The Word of God NEVER fails​.

The secular scholars could say anything contradictory, but inspired men in the past that truly walked with God, even now in our present age, acknowledged that the Word of God is active, living and powerful. 
​
Likewise, as an individual aiming to do exploits in life, you need to acknowledge the Word of God as living and applicable to you. However, in order to experience the real power in the Living Word of God; also referred to as Rhema, you need to accept and ascertain your stand with God. 

It is essential to crosscheck your relationship with God. Is it relationship or mere service? This is what we called Self Reflection. It helps to check if you are a 'doer' or 'mere listener' of His Living Word. 

'Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like someone who looks at his face in a mirror' .....James 1:23 NIV

If found wanting, the potency of the Living Word is available to correct and redirect your path back to God. 2Timothy 3:16-17 says:

16 All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness,  ​17 so that the servant of God[a]may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.

What the Rhema does?

The Living Word of God (Rhema) has the following attributes, among others:

1. Gives light & direction 

• ​Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path. Psalm 119:105, Psalm 119:130

2. Purifies

• How can a young person stay on the path of purity? By living according to your word. Psalm 119:9​

3. Endures

• ​The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of our God endures forever. Isaiah 40:8, Matthew 24:35; John 1:1
• Don't give up on God. Don't give up on God's promises. He will surely fulfil at the appointed time.

4. Blesses

• He replied, “Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey it. ”Luke 11:28
• Obedience is the key to divine blessings. Delayed or partial blessings is a disobedience.

5. Is Flawless

• As for God, his way is perfect: The Lord’s word is flawless; he shields all who take refuge in him. Psalm 18:30
• The Living Word of God is 100% efficient.

6. Gives Wisdom 

• Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. Matthew 7:24
• By applying the Word of God, we receive wisdom to excel, exploits, make wealth, and fulfil purpose.
• The Word of God encourage you to act and be great in life.  Proverbs 2:6
• Normally, you can know an author by studying their book. Similarly, study the Word to know God.

7. Is Right & True Forever

• For the word of the Lord is right and true; he is faithful in all he does. Psalm 33:4
• Not everything that is right is true. However, the Word of God is right and true. It's faithful and consistent.​

My prayer for you today is that God will reveal the Rhema and the power of His Living Word will live in you forever to the glory of His name. Amen.
