The Living Word: Attributes of the Rhema (Part 1)

For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.  – Hebrews 4:12

The Word of God is Active, Powerful, Sharp, Living and Inspiring. The revelational word is called Rhema while the letter is Logos. 

Also, it is worth knowing that Jesus Christ is the Living Word; Rhema. When you study the Word, you understand the mind of God. Thus, you become spirit-filled by the Word of God. Reminding oneself that the Word of God is active, breathing and moving will assists you in activating this divine power in your life.

2 Timothy 3:16 says: 

All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right.

The Bible as “living” 

• Means that it has a vital power inherent to itself
• is alive, having life; animate;
• is breathing, moving; existing, existent.​
