Principles are lifestyle of the Kingdom of God!
It is almost difficult to speak about a Kingdom you don't know its principles. The Kingdom of God is the only gospel preached by Jesus Christ. It’s not about eating and drinking. Rather, it is a serious business of our Father.
So today's message will focus on understanding the principles of the Kingdom of God. Be blessed as you read and watch!
While on earth, our Lord Jesus only spoke of the Kingdom of God. Nothing more or less. Likewise, as citizens and followers of Jesus, our emphasis should be on the Kingdom of God. By doing this, all other 'things' will be added to our lives. Matthew 6:33

Understanding the kingdom principles makes life easy. More so, when we understand the principles of the Kingdom, we will find it easy to interact and exercise our rights.  Thus, in the Kingdom Principles, we cannot appropriate and enjoy the benefits of God's kingdom until we understand how it operates.
Knowledge of the Kingdom principles helps one to think and act like a Kingdom citizen; exercise authority as God intended you to be!

What is a Kingdom?

By definition, a kingdom is the governing impact of a king’s will, intent and purpose over a domain. That means among other things, a king has a dominion over a 'territory'. Let's quickly look at some kingdom facts.
  • The key is territory.
  • Glory of the kingdom is TERRITORIAL INFLUENCE.
  • All Kingdoms EXPAND.
  • And the first kingdom in existence is THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN.
One of the aims of every kingdom is expansion. That means any stagnant kingdom will go into extinction in no time. Thus, as good citizens of the Kingdom of God, we are to speak in as much as possible and encourage more people to accept the Kingdom of our God in their lives. This we do to depopulate the kingdom of darkness, and inversely populate the Kingdom of God.

Jesus Christ, our King

A king is a ruler of a nation or territory, by inheritance and rules for life until dethroned by death or a superior kingdom. However, the kingship of our Saviour is unbeatable and everlasting. "And to him was given dominion and glory and a kingdom, that all peoples, nations, and languages should serve him; his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom one that shall not be destroyed." Daniel 7:14
Every king including Lord Jesus was born a King. Matthew 2:2 says “Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? For we have seen His star in the East and have come to worship Him.”

Likewise in 1Timothy 6:15, Jesus Christ was adored as the King of kings and Lord of lords.  'Which in his times he shall shew, who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords; '
Kingship is by birth and not by right."
Even to the time of death, King Jesus reigned and died as a king. Read Mark 15:32 'Let Christ the King of Israel descend now from the cross, that we may see and believe. And they that were crucified with him reviled him.'

Another essential part of the kingdom is that every king has an ultimate assignment to:
  • build
  • protect and
  • expand his kingdom.
The assignment of King Jesus Christ was to preach the gospel of the Kingdom of God and he did it excellently. Read Mark 1:14-15 'Now after that John was put in prison, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God, And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.'

So what about you?
Jesus is our King. We are proudly heirs of His Kingdom!

World king vs Divine King

One major difference between the earthly king and the divine king is time and homage. According to the scriptures, Jesus is the King of kings and Lord of lords, taking homage from all other kings. His kingdom is everlasting and has no end compared to timed reign of world kings.

Every king has a kingdom over a territory. In Genesis 1:28 God gave man territory with authority. Let them have dominion. 'And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.'

Million years after, that divine dominion is still valid in our lives. Read Matthew 18: 18
'Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.'

However, we only exercise that dominion by inviting God into our territory (life) via prayers and believing His Word in the Holy Bible. Anything else is outside the divine box.

Principles of the Kingdom of  God

Principles means constitution, qualities, lifestyle of the kingdom. Every kingdom including the Kingdom of God has its own unique principles, which must be duly observed by his citizens. The Kingdom is about the Gospel!
Having laid the foundation for this series of sermon today, our subsequent messages will look at the principles of the Kingdom of God bit by bit.
  1. LOVE
  2. FAITH
  3. FORGIVING
  4. JUDGING
  5. PRAYER
  6. GIVING
  7. POWER
Romans 14:17 For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit,
The truth is a full understanding of the principles of the Kingdom of God empowers us to be good ambassadors at all times. As ambassadors of the Kingdom of God, let's be bold to witness and express our love for God at all times. Be encouraged to exercise your authority in God via prayers and His Word.  God bless you!
