The Undiluted WORD of God

The Doctrine of Redemption

God is our creator and Jesus our kinsman redeemer.
Doctrine essentially means foundational teachings of the Bible. It is likened to the foundation of a house.

The doctrine of Redemption is an essential course. It should not be misinterpreted.

Remember, Jesus paid it all!
Unfortunately, people use that beautiful word wrongly nowadays by referring Doctrines of the Bible as indoctrination. By definitions, indoctrination means the process of teaching a person or group to accept a set of beliefs uncritically while doctrine means teachings.

Doctrines mentioned in the Bible could be false (Ephesians 4:14) or sound (Titus 2:1). Our focus of today's teaching is on the sound doctrine which reflects the intent of God via His Word. Out of many sound doctrines in the Bible, the doctrine of Redemption is an essential course because Redemption is a big thing!
Psalm 107:2 says "Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, whom he hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy;"
Redemption is basically buying back or recovering an important thing or person from an external possession. A typical example in the Bible is the story of Ruth redeemed by Boaz; her kinsman.

God is our creator and Jesus our kinsman redeemer. As human, we were sold into slavery by sin, but redeemed back to God by Lord Jesus.
1Peter1:18a-19a says  For asmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things......19 But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:
On the cross of calvary, the burden of our sins was laid on Jesus and He willingly PAID IT IN FULL when he said “it is finished”.
Through the Redemption on the cross, all our debt is paid in full.  Thus, we are free from any bondage. We are redeemed by the blood!
John 19:28-30 (NKJV)
It Is Finished
28 After this, Jesus, [a]knowing that all things were now accomplished, that the Scripture might be fulfilled, said, “I thirst!” 29 Now a vessel full of sour wine was sitting there; and they filled a sponge with sour wine, put it on hyssop, and put it to His mouth. 30 So when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, “It is finished!” And bowing His head, He gave up His spirit.
