Any Salvation without preservation will result in loss.

While it is good to anticipate for harvest, yet we need to intentionally protect the seeds right from planting to harvesting because seeds are just like babies.

It must be intentionally nurtured, preserved and protected  to avoid losses. Ultimately, our harvest needs inspiration of the Holy Spirit to avoid waste of efforts, seeds, or harvest.
Luke 12: 1   Meanwhile, when a crowd of many thousands had gathered, so that they were trampling on one another, Jesus began to speak first to his disciples, saying: "Be on your guard against the yeast of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy.
Every harvest starts right from planting of the seed, which is usually few compared to the fruits ready for the harvest. Notwithstanding, the seed is very essential to experience harvest time.

According to Luke 12:1, Lord Jesus Christ also spoke FIRST to his disciples before the multitudes. The ministry of the Word came first to the disciples and then to multitudes.
It is wise to say that seeds and fruits of harvest are never in an abundance of possessions (Luke 12:15). The Contemporary English version says: "Don't be greedy! Owning a lot of things won't make your life safe."

Harvest is a continuous process in as much the seasons remains. Let us learn from a certain rich man in  Luke 12:16 who thought he had too much to sow and harvest.
Luke 12:15 Then he said to them, "Watch out! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; life does not consist in an abundance of possessions."
Luke 12:16-21
16
Then He told them a parable: “The ground of a certain rich man produced an abundance. 17 So he thought to himself, ‘What shall I do, since I have nowhere to store my crops?’ 18 Then he said, ‘This is what I will do: I will tear down my barns and will build bigger ones, and there I will store up all my grain and my goods. 19 Then I will say to myself, “You have plenty of good things laid up for many years. Take it easy. Eat, drink, and be merry!”’
20 But God said to him, ‘You fool! This very night your life will be required of you. Then who will own what you have accumulated?’
21 This is how it will be for anyone who stores up treasure for himself but is not rich toward God.”
This certain man had a ground which brought forth plentiful. The man in particular had a lot of fruits for harvest, but lacked a good storage facility. So, he intended to expand his barn to accommodate the harvest. At this point, his intention was right but soon later, he missed it. He said to himself in verse 20, go to rest. And right there, he missed it.

As believers, our hearts and thoughts must align with God's will.
It is very pertinent that our focus should be on helping one another to grow up in God and not only on growing the population. That's the real, right harvest.
Although, one of the most important thing about harvesting is reaping, yet there's a more important aspect of preservation of the harvest. Fruits must be harvested on time else, it spoils. Likewise, fruits must be preserved to avoid losses. Aptly, it takes a lot of intentional efforts to preserve what you already have just like it takes a longer time to nurture a child compared to the average nine (9) months of nurturing the pregnancy.

Unfortunately, any slight form of immaturity or unpreparedness is more disastrous to the anticipated harvest than the odd experience of no-harvest.

The Babies

While it is good to anticipate for harvest, yet we need to critically look after the seeds planted to bring the desired harvest.

The planted seeds which precede harvests are just like babies. It must be nurtured, preserved, protected  to avoid losses. Fortunately, mother-nature (the earth) also assists to protect and nurture the seeds while in the ground. Likewise, f
ruits must be harvested on time else, it spoils.
Any salvation without preservation will result in loss (of the Soul).

In a similar way, there is a unique message of love that gives birth to new believers in the church. This good news of Christ must not be polluted, for it is the power of God.
1 Corinthians 1: 23 but we preach Christ crucified, a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to Gentiles, 24 but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God.
Brethren, irrespective of the number of fruits in your harvest, whether small or large, always be and remain faithful in the calling. Do not conform to the world. Let us remember that sometimes the problems with harvest is there's a lot of waste - a lot of unnecessary expenses. Ultimately, our harvest needs inspiration of the Holy Spirit to avoid waste of efforts, seeds, or harvest. The Holy spirit helps to protect the babies, seeds and eventually the harvest.

Allow the Holy Spirit to work in and through your field (efforts). May the Lord of harvest bless you. Amen.
