The Undiluted WORD of God

The Power of the Cross

Picture
The Cross of Jesus Christ is very powerful and full of redemption grace.

"For the message of the cross is ........the power of God."
1 Corinthians 1:18

The cross  redeems, saves, delivers and draws everyone back to God. Be blessed as you read and watch the message.
From the beginning of Christianity, believers all over the world understand the significance of the cross and thus cherish it. In fact, most orthodox churches place a sign of the cross somewhere in the church while some people wear it as a necklace or other form of jewellery to remind one another the ultimate power of the Cross.

The death of Jesus on the Cross brings salvation and redemption to humanity and draws everyone back to God. In John 12:32-33, Jesus said "And I, when I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all people to myself.” 33 He said this to show the kind of death he was going to die."

While the redeemed of the Lord acknowledge the power of the Cross, it is still pathetically foolishness to the perishing as written in 1 Corinthians 1:18 "For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God."

Thus, the powerful message of the Cross where Jesus Christ died remains a mystery and foolishness to the world especially to people that trusted in their own wisdom.

What the Cross of Jesus signifies:

  • Forgiveness
Although Jesus Christ was blameless and without sin, yet he was crucified to appease for our sins as written in 1 Peter 3:18 NLT  that reads "Christ suffered for our sins once for all time. He never sinned, but he died for sinners to bring you safely home to God. He suffered physical death, but he was raised to life in the Spirit."

Also read:
Romans 3:23
says "for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,"
  • Love of God
The Cross of Jesus Christ represents the love of God for humanity.
Romans 5:6-8    "You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. 7 Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous person, though for a good person someone might possibly dare to die. 8 But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us."
John 3:16
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
1John 3:16
This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters.
  • Victory
The death of Jesus Christ on the Cross and His resurrection brought us victory over sin and Satan.
1Corinthians 15:57 "But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ."

  • Reconciliation
Through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, we are reconciled back to God.
2Corinthians 5:18 "All this is from God, who reconciled us to Himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation:"

  • Redemption
For as many that believe in the power of the Cross, we are redeemed by the Blood of Jesus FROM the curse of the law INTO the blessings of Abraham.
Galatians 3:13-14 "Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us, for it is written: “Cursed is everyone who is hung on a pole.” 14 He redeemed us in order that the blessing given to Abraham might come to the Gentiles through Christ Jesus, so that by faith we might receive the promise of the Spirit."
Hallelujah! Jesus died and rose again.
The Cross and tomb is empty!
We are redeemed by the blood of Jesus! Amen
