Faith Pathway

Faith pathway
The ACCEPTED Word of God brings us benefits.

Using Mathematical expression, the Faith equation looks like: The Word of God + Faith = Profits
In sincerity, life is full of ups and downs and we need to hold onto whom we believe to succeed. That is the beginning of faith. Hope precedes faith. Without hope, there is no faith. In other words, there's an entity called hope and faith. These two elements works together.

Often times, we ponder on essential questions like: where are the things prepared for me concealed, if any? Fortunately, there are virtues reserved for you, waiting to be discovered. And those goodies are discovered in the Word of God - that is, the Gospel.
In fact, most of the things we experience as Christians like joy, peace and other fruit of the spirit are beyond the physical eyes. Thus, we receive the precious gifts via faith in God. They are all precious jewels of heaven. They are unseen, but realistic and recorded in the Bible to be discovered and acquired by the believers.
There must be a connection with the Word of God for it to profit you.
"We have heard the message, just as they did. But they failed to believe what they heard, and the message did not do them any good."  Hebrews 4:2
In Hebrews 4:2, what makes the difference between a Christian and any other person is faith. We receive the Word with faith and it profits us while they ordinarily received and discarded the Word. So, it did not work for them.

Meanwhile, how we preach the Gospel to others is also important. Do we preach Jesus Christ and His Kingdom or do we preach our own modified message?

An Illustration:
On a Sunday morning, you chose to eat cereals and apple as breakfast. This ready-to-eat breakfast is similar to the Completed Word of God. It must be properly taken, explored and digested for it to benefit the body.

In contrast, if the served breakfast is wrongfully injected into the bloodstream of its consumer, it will become poisonous rather than nutritious.

Likewise, the properly ACCEPTED Word of God brings us benefits. It is essential that the Word communicate the power of God into us. When we hear the Word, it must mix with our faith.

Let's look at some attributes of the Word of God.
  • The word of God is a revelation of God.
  • It is beyond letters.
  • It's spirit and life.
  • The word of God will not be meaningful until the holy spirit reveals it to us. Then, our faith grows bigger.

As written in Romans 10:17 faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. Let's have a look at the pathway of faith.

The faith pathway includes:

  1. Hearing. Proverbs 4: 23 says  "guard your heart with all diligence.." Be careful how and what you hear. Endeavour not to hear wrong secular music or words.
  2. Heart. Consider this: what drops in your heart? Is it inspiring or demoralising
  3. Holy Spirit ministration. The active session of holy spirit is essential to have a revelational understanding of the Word of God.
  4. Confess it. Faith is not a process of 'repeat after me'. It is KNOWING HIM. Faith is knowing whom you truly believe.

Things that can go wrong.
So many things can go wrong, which may disturb or negatively affect your faith. Some of the factors are highlighted as follows:
  • environment - hearing wrong music or word
  • tradition - established bad tradition contending with the way of God.
  • rebellion - self confidence making them to ignore God.

Reflections

  • Who do you believe? Do you believe in God Almighty?
  • Do you guard your hearts with diligence?

Most times, we protect our children, assets, bodies but ignore our souls. As we go about this week, let us remember to guard our heart with diligence and TRUST GOD in all things.

Faith is knowing GOD!!! Have a blessed week.
